Helmet laws, OTOH actually INCREASES motorcycle accidents, since riders forced to wear them feel safer and so they take risks on the road a cautious helmet-less rider would never take.If true, that would just be proof that on average motorcycle riders are morons. Are you sure this isn't one of those items about helmet laws increasing neck injuries? The people who used to die now get serious neck injuries in large numbers, not because they are wearing a helmet, but because the helmet shielded them from the massive head injuries that would make the neck injuries unnoticed. |
