It's the Neocons that regard this as a game; I regard this as the life of the country in jeopardy. Easy to put your opponent on a "losing streak" with bribery and lies. Our "allies" overseas, excepting a few, aren't buying it. Ever read this page? It's a list of all the countries that we owe money to via selling them T-bills. We wouldn't owe that much if the Neocons weren't hell-bent on bribing the super-rich with tax cuts they don't deserve (thus relieving them of the burden of "supporting" the troops). I shudder to see what the figures for 2004 will be, when this page is updated sometime next year. If Hilly morphs into a "centerist dummycrat" for 2008 as the pundits expect Right now, this country needs centrists more than ever. Clinton did the right thing and became centrist, even when up against a Democrat-controlled Congress. This is, as I already said, Neoconservatives vs. everyone else, not Conservatives vs. Liberals with the moderates having suddenly disappeared. And as for the 2008 election, we'll see if we survive to that point . . . |
