We could have worked WITH Russia on the "war on terrorism"Sure, just like we're working with Iran now (oh, the irony). We woulda had to be really, really proactive to halt all these sales of weapons to Iran by Russia. That woulda meant stripping Russia of its sovereignty in earnest . . . entities like Russia and the EU are, and never have been other than, quite autonomous—and they have been working against the USA for far longer than the time after the Neocons gave them excuses to do so openly (Neocon rhetoric, withdrawal from ABM Treaty, you name it; there certainly was a deluge of same within 2001). |
