The Golani soldiers are members of an elite commando unit.The Israeli military spokesperson was referring to the weapons in the context of lots of Gazans carrying weapons routinely, so their purpose in coming through the fence might indeed have been unclear. It would be the equivalent, hypothetically, of, say, everyone in South Central LA's ghettos carrying weapons with them routinely, but only a certain % being gang-bangers or other bad guys. |
