The size of the majority gives more leeway to ignore him versus if it was 51-49 or 52-48 and you potentially had someone like Senator Fetterman not siding with the Democrats on a particular piece of legislation. At a minimum of 54 seats, if the whole caucus other than El-Sayed and Sanders are united in opposition to the two of them, the remainder of the Democrats can ignore them.
