Maybe they'll find lethal injection to be cruel and unusual.I oppose capital punishment for murder in general, but it's not at all for "bleeding heart" reasons. The Constitution clearly contemplated execution by hanging, as this was not at all unusual, but this novel form was absolutely unusual and it might finally be found to be cruel. The real reason they don't do firing squad is because they don't want to clean up the blood and brains, and because they don't want to traumatize the audience (the family of the victims). |
