Basic Requirements
Age:
Must be at least 17 years old to take the exam, at least 20.5 years old to be appointed, and under 35 years old when the application period starts (military exceptions apply).

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, plus at least 24 college semester credits with a 2.0 GPA or 2 years of active military service.

Citizenship & License:
U.S. citizenship and a valid, unrestricted New York State driver's license are required at appointment.


So do your due diligence and find some cities that allow green card nolders to be cops.
