Lots of great salads & cold cut sandwiches and heros to be had there. Woodhaven was a great little neighborhood back in the early-mid 80s. Hated to leave there but we had no choice. We lived in a 2 family house in the upstairs apartment.The landlady refused to renew our lease because her daughter was getting divorced and needed the apartment. We just had a baby which complimented things. We could have went to landlord/tenants court and get a holdover petition to force her to let us stay there but decided to move on when our backup bid on a house upstate came thru and off we went to suburbia. I have only good memories of living in Woodhaven (other than getting thrown out of our apartment). Good solid Irish, Italian & some Columbian unpretentious working class folks there. I wonder what its like there now? |
