Re: I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords

Data center locations aren’t chosen with the goal of screwing over Luddite neighbors, they have to balance the availability of electricity, cooling, and labor. They don’t want to build them in the desert because then the maintenance employees (even though there aren’t that many) would have to be specially housed and paid a premium to choose to live in the middle of nowhere as opposed to New York or San Francisco.

It actually did think of 14/6, and it was mentioned in the preceding paragraph:
Similarly, 14th Street–Sixth Avenue effectively has three track elevations: PATH/IND infrastructure and the L arranged at different depths, although the geometry is more complicated than a neat four-story stack. A discussion specifically asking about four-level subway stations reached essentially the same conclusion.
This was followed by a citation to Reddit, which gets to what so-called AI actually is: it’s an advanced mimicry machine, it’s not intelligent and incapable of original thought, it’s basically autocomplete on steroids. This is still extremely useful and it probably called Lexington/63 a crazy answer because someone else on Reddit or elsewhere called it crazy in a different context.

The fact that AI isn’t actually intelligent and requires original information generated by people is the reason that the fear that “AI” will tkkk r jrbs is overblown. I do however see it as a problem for entry level white collar positions where there will no longer be a need for them, so who will have the experience for the still useful higher level positions?
