"It's a long distance, but traveling by plane makes it easier," Southwest spokesman Matt Bowen said. "The trek from downtown Denver out to the airport takes people way too long by car. We're offering daily routes now so travelers can get to and from the two locations in less than the usual 18 hours it takes to drive." For years, travelers in the Denver area have struggled to travel from the city center out to the airport, which some estimate is 460 miles away from downtown.
