Union retiree where TWU allowed management to put us all into a managed care plan and took away regular Medicare 3 years ago. Us retirees were no allowed to vote on the contract, that was part of the total package along with everything else. The actives voted yes because that change did not affect them.It didn't matter to me because I'm in a managed plan anyway, but others who didn't want it were stuck with it and had to change over. Many of them lost their doctors. Our plan for example does not allow us to get cancer treatment at Sloan-Kettering, where my wife went about 25 years ago while I was active. |
