First you said that the supposed lack of a famous soccer hall of fame implies that the sport is unpopular.Anyway, where is the college football hall of fame?* Do you think most people have heard of it? Yet, college football is exceedingly popular. It’s obvious that the popularity of a sport’s hall of fame has little correlation to the sport’s popularity. I would argue that only the National Baseball Hall of Fame is famous, the others aren’t. I bet that most people don’t know where the basketball and hockey halls of fame are either. Or that the hockey hall of fame is actually in Canada. *Canton is the site of the pro-football hall of fame. It doesn’t honor college football as such. |
