Iran is scheduled to play Egypt in a Group G match in Seattle on June 26 during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This game has been designated locally as a 'Pride Match,' highlighting LGBTQ+ inclusion and visibility. The request to ban non-national flags is one of ten conditions set by the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran for its participation in the World Cup.
