The Chumash are an indigenous people with a, 13,000+ year history along the California coast, spanning from Paso Robles to Malibu and including the Channel Islands. Known for their maritime culture, intricate basketry, and plank canoes (tomols), the Chumash today are a thriving community with approximately 5,000 members, focused on cultural revitalization and economic development, including the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.
You would think that the Chumash you were talking about would be the first thing Google AI thinks of, but no.
