Yes, I've chased them numerous times in the tunnels. On the structures as well. Mostly strong arm robberies that occurred when I happened to be there. Those Goddamn token suckers ALWAYS jumped on the tracks whenever we surprised them. The way they fled it was like they murdered someone! I mean, I know WHY they did, as the railroad clerks were always instructed by their TA supervisors to call it in. Once the police got there, a TP-67 (police complaint report) was required, so a lot , if not all of the cops with "time on" would hate them, and "let them know it" in their own special way! Even us rookies wound up hating them for that reason (pre-Rodney King riots). We one time chased a robber N/B on the 1 train tracks from Houston to Christopher Street before he got apprehended. Another time I chased a slasher from the IND Plats in Herald Square S/B in the express tracks tunnel. I had to go on the radio for that one as he hid on me. But we got him anyway |
