Short version.The Beach Boys are touring the country at the time of the King assassination. They landed in Nashville of all places and promptly postponed the tour. Dennis Wilson is back in California cruising around when he picks up two hitchhikers. They are Manson members and wind up introducing Wilson to Manson. The Beach Boys along with Terry Melcher give Manson a shot to second but ultimately pass on signing him so to speak. Melcher lived at the 10050 Cielo Drive house in 1968. Presumably that house was targeted in 1969 because of Melcher but he was gone and Tate was now renting unfortunately for her and her guests. |
