The Mayor usually makes an appearance and says a few remarks soon after catastrophic events like this with his NYC Mayor windbreaker on and sign language translator at his left. Saying things like Prayers for the injured, condolences for the deceased, thanks to all the first responders for their tireless efforts, etc. All things one might expect from a caring and concerned leader. |
