Double-parking exists because there aren’t enough spots. It’s similar to my arguments in favor of so-called “price gouging.” If the double-parker needs the spot badly enough he’ll pay for it, but it’s possible that one or more of the single-parkers will choose not to drive there and make room for someone for whom parking there is more valuable.Note that double-parkers already take the risk of a parking ticket, so that’s the “price” right there. Some businesses expect parking tickets and pay them regularly. |
