The first year for the manual 3 speed with all synchros on the Chevy was 1965. To keep from grinding first gear from a standing start, put the shift lever into 2nd, then down into 1st, goes in smooth then. It pains me when I watch yootube vids of test drives of older Chevys with 3 speeds and the drivers ggrrrrrrrrind into first. |
