Socialism is an inherently coercive ideology.Every ideology except pure libertarianism (which is a disaster for other reasons) is inherently at least somewhat coercive. Liberals (and conservatives too) support zoning, income tax, restrictions on drugs, the regulatory state in general, etc. It's all just a matter of degree and emphasis. |
