Maybe greater length means YouTube inserts more ads and gets greater revenue, of which it then shares a piddling amount with the content creator?That could be, though I suspect it’s more that many creators are losing interest in You Tube, possibly because there’s less money in it, and therefore don’t bother with editing as that takes time. This ties in with the fact that so many once-prolific creators have vanished or at least have vastly reduced their postings. Something I’ve seen more than a few times is a creator who hasn’t posted in weeks or even months will finally post a video in which they’ll say that life has gotten so busy or words to that effect but will promise to have a lot more soon. You can guess how that goes. |
