I would prefer working from 7:30 to 4:00, but I would be a less effective employee if I weren't around to respond to requests from colleagues and clients until at least 5. After 5, anyone who tries to contact me knows that they're not guaranteed to get a response, but if they ask for something at 4 they expect that they would hear back the same day, even if the answer is "I don't have time until tomorrow." |
