Former NY Jets Center Mangold Dies |

Mangold, by all accounts a good person and family man as well as a beloved teammate, passed away from kidney disease at 41 years young. I remember reading just a couple weeks ago his reaching out to the public, specifically the Ohio State and New York Jets "communities", stating that he was in dire need of a kidney transplant but, well, you can read the link. As an aside, it saddens me that with all the expertise and advancements in research/technology we are hardly closer to a cure for many chronic diseases that touch all of us, directly or indirectly.
