That's a totally nonsensical argument, as S-P points out.Trump MIGHT successfully claim that because he is President he has the right to do whatever he wants with federal property. Flimsy, but you never know, given the current Supreme Court. But there is NO WAY he has the right to destroy federal property just because he will replace it out of his own pocket. If that were the case, he'd have the right to chisel Teddy Roosevelt's face out of Mt. Rushmore and replace it with his face, as long as he had it paid for privately. Or he could replace the Jefferson memorial with the Trump Memorial. |
