Research shows that they don't. Including an extensive study comparing a tribe of Indians along the US-Mexico border.

The tribe is separated by the border. The ones in Mexico eat a more traditional diet. The ones in the US, living on a reservation are suffering from all kinds of ailments. Researchers noted the main difference was food quality.
