They were very violent, but the main reason the White Man won was because the Red Man was susceptible to more disease brought accidentally by the White Man than the other way around.That's why the Americas were colonized starting in the 1500s but Africa took until the 1800s. Spaniards initially tried to use the locals as their slaves but they died off, so they had to bring Africans that had been sold down the river by their own countrymen. Finally it should be noted that the natives practiced slavery too. |
