I have read Fire on the Mountain by John MacLean about the 1994 Storm King Mountain fire in Colorado and the more recent book by Lizzie Johnson about the Paradise Fire in California. I have also studied the Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona. All were deadly. For those of you who are curious, the attached is a relatively brief documentary about the elite "Granite Mountain Hotshots" crew out of Prescott who fought and died at Yarnell. There is also a riveting PBS FRONTLINE documentary about Paradise that you can find on YouTube among other places. |
