I would like to add that your proposal absolutely wouldn’t shorten the government shutdown. Most members of Congress are rich and their Congressional salaries are useless to them. People don’t run for Congress to collect a government salary.The popular belief is that Congress is overpaid, when the opposite is true, Congress is underpaid and we would be better off if they were paid more. |
