WALM:A B-25 weighed 20,500 Lbs while the lightest B-767 weighs in at 282,000 Lbs. Additionally, the cruising speed of the 767 was likely twice that of the B-25 at the time of impact. If you believe basic laws of physics, the plane that struck the empire state building did so with about 1/20th the force of the plane which struck either WTC tower. Of course, this also does not take into account the relative volume of and flamability of the remaining fuel on the planes involved. |
