The majority of sick-child school abscenes are caused by flu, severe colds and covid (lately). Seeing most children get their vaccines, the absences for preventable diseases is actually fairly low, at least in NY where vaccines are mandatory.Ask any teacher, if you can find a healthy one. Flu and covid vaccines should be mandatory too. Not much can be done about colds, but they tend to be milder, resulting in shorter and fewer. |
