In NY, proof of employment (with need) is required every 2 years for a CDL. Not only do you need the skill, you need to pass ongoing tests ( including urine tests for illegal substances) to renew a CDL. Otherwise, you get promoted to plain vanilla driver. A friend lost his CDL when he shifted to indoor tech from remote engineering at a local TV station He had to drive a 40 ft rig around). |
