Sliwa is getting the backing from the mostly white, working-middle class property owners, or aspiring ones. The same people who put Rudy in office. The problem us, in 1993 there were enough of "us" to vote him in. Now, most of "us" moved to Florida, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, New Jersey, L.I., Vegas, etc... Numerically speaking, Staten Island and some scattered areas of Btooklyn and Queens, and Throggs Neck Bronx, aren't enough to get Sliwa in. 33 yrs ago, yes. Today,no. |
