Thanks but we go wherever the Hotel Committee decides and tells us to go. For short layovers, we normally stay at the Renaissance near LAX. For intermediates, those between 14 - 16 hours, normally Marina Del Rey, and for those greater than 16, Redondo Beach. Many if not most of my colleagues enjoy Redondo. Quite honestly, I wish we were billeted by the airport for anything under 20 hours by contract and, other than that, either downtown or some nice location distant. In Chicago, we either stay in Rosemont near O'Hare or, for longer layovers, downtown Chicago. I like that and similar setups, especially after long work days, even though the younger ones who get by on minimum sleep want to go distant, preferably downtown, change clothes and get on with drinking and carousing. I'm too old for that:( |
