Yawn.One technology advance, containerized shipping, eliminated low paying jobs in Manhattan. Other technology advances have brought many high paying jobs to Manhattan. And many of the tall buildings in Manhattan today could not have been built economically in 1950. Without those advances in building technology, people would have been saying that Manhattan was long past its prime because there just isn't any place to put more workers. |
