While natural gas is used to produce 43% of all US electricity, the 2nd greatest source of electricity in the US is coal fired.Wrong again. Here are the figures: https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/electricity/electricity-in-the-us.php Go to the chart and move the cursor for 2022, the latest figures shown. There will be a popup box that shows the various amounts in billion kilowatt-hours. coal: 829 B-KWH natural gas: 1,689 B-KWH nuclear: 772 B-KWH renewables: 913 B-KWH petroleum and other: 40 B-KWH Electricity generated by renewables have exceeded coal generation since 2020. |
