He's in better physical shape now than FDR in 1939The better example would be FDR in 1944. The convention fight wasn't over the presidential nomination. It was over the Vice-Presidential nomination because party leaders had strong doubts that FDR would not finish his term. FDR wasn't able or willing to secure Wallace's renomination. Truman was forced onto FDR (against Truman's wishes). |
