I was up in Woodstock this morning and went over to the hamlet of Bearsville where my folks built a home on their 10 acre property back in the 90s. The Bearsville Theater and Utopia Sound Studios, the latter designed and built by and for Todd Rundgren and his band Utopia, are within walking distance of the property. I swung by out of nostalgia more than anything else since it took me back to a more innocent time. Anyway, with apologies to Salaam Allah, I do not know whether the songs are considered to be soul but to me they are, at least, "soulful".The first track is probably my favorite song after James Taylor's Fire and Rain although Carole King's It's Too Late and Seals and Crofts' Summer Breeze. I also like(d) the second track. Hello Light |
