BTW replay showed that Robinson was indeed out.Robinson was safe. Here's why. Notice that Ford threw with his foot on the rubber. It's a pitch not a throw to home. As such, the catcher cannot interfere with the batter by preventing or interfering with the swing. Notice Berra caught the ball before it crossed the plate. That's catcher's interference. Batter is awarded first base and Robinson is awarded home. |
