So “human life.” A lot of people just say “life” without qualifying it. It is for that reason that I think that at some point between fertilization* and birth, that’s enough of a human in there to count as a baby. That’s why I would accept a cutoff of something that’s certainly before this occurs. Not a heartbeat though because other animals have such similar hearts that xenotransplantation has already been done.*Pregancy begins at implantation, not fertilization, but religious people seem to have fixated on the latter. |
