What if a bill has unanimous support among the Republicans but opposed by all Democrats, Jeffries could keep it from coming to the floor. Also, as Speaker he alone would determine membership on Select Committees. So what would stop him from forming a bunch od Select Committees to investigate stuff that President Trump was alleged to have done to distract from the failures of President Biden’s tenure. |
