The "Muslim ban" (BTW which I disagreed with this broad brush approach) was knee jerk reaction to 9/11.Family separation happens when a parent is in custody and the kids are not. Normal procedure practiced by law enforcement worldwide. When daddy is arrested with his kids in NYC, daddy gets locked up, kids get "separated" and go to a relative or social services. Kids do not go to jail with him. Same thing at the border. Daddy gets arrested with his kids for illegal entry, kids get separated and don't get locked up for what daddy did. |
