Back in the day, when I worked I was a member of a union.Our contract called for paid days off for Federal Holidays. But, not not all holidays. Management felt that there were too many. So we had option to pick which ones we would work. One of my choices to work was MLK Day. Why, you ask. Because it was a winter holiday, I wanted warmer holidays. To work this day, most business were closed, ergo, nothing to do. It was a low traffic day, easy to get to and from the city. a faster commute for me. |
