NYC is the greatest city in the world, while we are at it...It was for much of the 20th Century, but hasn't been for decades. The infrastructure, including the decaying subway, is too poor for it to be compared favorably. The quality of life in NYC has never been the greatest, but it was worth the sacrifice for the world class experiences available. What's left now in NYC that's truly world class? Live performances, fine dining, luxury high rises, finance, and maybe other pursuits of the 1%? Ok, but not so much for the average NYer. |
