And do you really think the blue laws were primarily based on non-religious reasons? The purported business reasons you cited could have been satisfied by passing similar restrictions for Saturday rather than Sunday - but nonetheless, Sunday, the common religious day of rest in the US, was universally chosen. Based on your reasoning, that should make all such laws unconstitutional as being "based on religion", despite the purported social benefits, no?subfan |
