Posted by Mitch45 on Tue Dec 7 15:27:16 2021 On this 80th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, pulling the United States into the worst war this world has ever seen (to date), I just want to express my sorrows for the brave men and women who lost their lives that day, and thank those military veterans who are still with us.In the late 1950's, this great country welcomed my parents, two Holocaust survivors, and gave them an opportunity to build new lives and experience happiness after their harrowing experiences in Eastern Europe. My mother, who knew Mengele face to face, was always especially grateful for the opportunities she was given here, and loved the NYPD for treating her with courtesy and respect whenever she needed them. |
