It is clearly against the law for many types of elections, but allowing legal non citizens to vote in local elections can be legal if laws allow it. This is about changing local laws to allow it. Whether the City Council has the authority to pass such a law, as opposed to a Charter Amendment voted on by the electorate will certainly end up in court. |
