A guy who used to believe that the lab leak theory was the most probable has meanwhile done a study of all public records. The first publicly known case was of a wet market worker, and the explosion of early cases all occurred among wet market workers. There is no known connection* between the lab and the first wet market worker case.So this all actually makes the lab leak theory slightly less likely. * Of course, the authorities might be deliberately suppressing a link between a lab worker who got sick even earlier and the first wet market worker. Note also that the wet market DOES have a strong link with Yunnan Province. They got animals from there, though not bats. And the Chinese got rid of all the animals at the market without testing them (or at least without revealing test results, if any). |
