If anything, Columbus set back the cause of liberty, by empowering the medieval relic Spanish Empire for centuries.

Thank “god” the Spanish ignored North America and it was the English and Dutch that colonized this area.

Another setback to the cause of liberty is the pernicious philosophy of “nationalism.” Of course, celebrating Columbus is an example of that, since it places blood and soil above all.
