(I have no idea why safari capitalizes "Mail".). A few years ago I accidentally threw away my ballot and so I voted in person. The polling place knew that I had already been sent a ballot, but had no idea whether or not I had sent it in. But because I had been sent a ballot, my in-person vote was considered provisional.Fast forward 5 years or so and every registered voter in California is sent a mail-in ballot yet lots of people are still voting in person. I think that the state is much better at identifying who already voted by Mail so maybe they can already tell people that they voted. Unless it was recent maybe. |
