But this is a city street, not a freeway. Perhaps the pedestrian shares some of the blame (like you, I wasn't there), but a driver on a city street must always be prepared for the possibility of a pedestrian darting out into the street.A car is a useful transportation device but, as we see here, also a lethal weapon. People using it for the former purpose must be exceptionally careful not to allow it to act in the latter purpose. |
